My blog posts happen less often than I expected, but that just means we are truly living in the moment and enjoying the journey. These posts are more for our memories. I’m hoping it will help us refer back to our journey. I take pictures all the time and the amount of times I refer back to enjoy them (especially on vacation) is less than you’d think. I don’t know are we alone? Do you find yourself doing that too? Or even if I do, I have lost the details. That’s what I like about this, giving meaning to some of the pictures I take. It also helps me weed out the multitude of duplicates, so when I reflect on this journey I will see the highlights and best of the pics.
So as I am writing today we are in Montana. We just left West Yellowstone, MT, entered Idaho and reentered Montana. We are headed to Kurt in Seattle. We will stop just west of Spokane for the night, arriving tomorrow early afternoon. But now back to the Badlands.
We stopped at visitor center on the way out. They actually have a working lab to prepare fossils. So you are able to watch the paleontologists work.
We saw some wildlife along the route.

| we think these were birds nests, but unsure what kind. we didn't see any birds fly into them. |
After the Badlands Wall Drug was suggested by many and even if they didn't suggest it the signs posted along the highway did. They started about 100 miles before your arrival. It was a nice stop off. I grabbed a long sleeve T-shirt at a reasonable price. We had lunch and grabbed a fresh donut for breakfast the next morning.

| My family name DUHAMEL - truly don't see it often. |
That was the end in this part of the state!! Next up is Custer State Park, Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse.
Looks like so much fun. I look back at pics but sometimes forget why I took some of them. Having notes is so much better. Cool seeing the Duhamel name way out there
ReplyDeleteLove you
These are so cool. Thanks for sharing your amazing journey with us. I love this.❤️ You two are out there having this incredible trip while the rest of us are leading our boring everyday lives; go to work, go to the torturous trainer, π go to Market Basket, go to work again. Same old, same old. π₯±. I’ll stop whining now. I love that we get to see all your travels. Thank you! Would like a Minou update please. Miss you!! π€π«Άπ»π
ReplyDeleteExcited to see what you glean from your family name and your dad's name surfacing so much. Very cool pictures. I like the colors too. Your explanation of Wall Drug reminds me of "South of the Border"
ReplyDeleteAlso, maybe this is the trip where you make a photo book at the end of it. I don't look back often either. I have a friend who goes on these awesome trips and then makes a huge book of all the pictures and what they did along the way. Just an idea.
