HOME!

We arrived home yesterday (10/23) around 3:20p.  About a week earlier than we originally intended, but it was time.  Welcomed back by a path of beautiful fall colors - I have never loved my home more.  I missed the beauty of New England.  I am so not a desert gal.  And I am so grateful I gave myself a little time before heading back to work, cuz I am tired as shit!!!  I don't know if I am coming or going.  I am so discombobulated!  Yesterday feels like a week ago, a week. ago feels like a month.  I'm not sure which timezone I'm in and where I just came from.   I wonder why...LOL - Some of our stats...

53 days traveling

9502 miles driven (all by John - he wanted to say he drove them all and quite honestly, he was probably too afraid of letting me get my hands on the steering wheel and I was A-OK with that)

28 states

2 countries

24 campgrounds (2 of which were city parks that were pretty dang good)

4 timezones

4 Harvest Host overnights

3 family visits (Dad, Kurt & Alex, Duhamel Cousins in Arkansas)

1 friend visit (Gourleys in Missouri)

6 National Parks - Badlands, Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Zion, Mesa Verde, Mammoth Caves

Several State Parks as well as National Monuments

I-have-no-clue-how-many miles bicycle miles ridden

Plenty of walks

3 Hot Springs

1 train ride

I could go on and on!!

I know I have missed a ton in this blogging journey and I do really still want to write about what we have seen and experienced.  If for nothing else, so I remember that I actually did it.

We learned a lot!  First - Minou will stay home from here on in!!  I could handle him taking up lots of space with all his shit and didn't mind cleaning a litter box (which I don't have to do at home), but his wacky idea of when he slept and when he stayed awake did me in.  I lost so much sleep because of him.

Second, we saw a lot but I felt like we were in Chevy Chase's VACATION - click on there for the exact part I am referencing.  Happy I was able to find it, cuz it's how I've been describing our trip.  So we saw a lot, but we didn't really explore as much as we'd have liked.  And though we are ok with how things went, we realize next time we will pick a few key places, set your selves up and then enjoy the destination.  It's what we chose to do in Durango, Colorado where we settled for 6 days and we really enjoyed that.

Ok, that's it for tonight.  I'll add a few pics so you have something to look at. :-)

We're HOME!

Cheapest gas we saw (I think this was OH)

Last morning waking up on our trip - we stayed in NY on the Eerie Canal

ahhhhhhhh (don't mind the white stripe - those are bug marks)

The colors!!!

2nd to last night at one of the General Butler State Park - John toting Minou around

Arkansas Duhamels (Ronnie, my first cousin and a portion of his troop)
